The 2019 Engineering Co-Op Program (Summer Term) opportunity is located at our manufacturing plant in Napoleon, OH.
The primary focus of the Engineering Co-Op Program is to provide hands-on learning and real world experience to engineering students enrolled in a cooperative education program at an accredited college or university. By developing engineering capability in design, manufacturing processes, development, product knowledge, problem solving and technical support, engineering students participating in Tenneco's Engineering Co-Op Program provide invaluable assistance to Tenneco's engineering community.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Perform daily process testing as required, typically in the phosphate and stamping processes.
Make short trips with company vehicles within the area to suppliers and sister plants to pick up or deliver samples and products.
Troubleshooting equipment issues and completing corrective actions to address those issues
Assist in gathering data, analyzing, and drawing engineering conclusions.
Assist in gathering information on standardization, new technologies, and cost reduction ideas.
Responsible for test setup, execution, data collection, and reporting.
Organize and prioritize work requests to meet project timing requirements.
Develop and implement efficiency, cost, and quality improvement ideas.
Gain knowledge in engineering procedures, tools, and engineering process development.

Minimum Qualifications
Student currently enrolled in and in good standing with an accredited cooperative education engineering program.
Student currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in engineering.
Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
Ability to provide own transportation to/from the job site.
Ability to participate in a co-op work term (minimum of 10 weeks) during the Summer co-op period (May - August).
Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Geographically flexible and willing to relocate during the program.
Preferred Qualifications
Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in automotive, computer, electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, or systems engineering.
Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
